Tailem Bend is where the Aussies Against AI Data Centres campaign began.
Firmus is planning a large-scale AI data centre near the town. The company has outlined plans for approximately 1,000 megawatts (MW) of computing capacity at full development, subject to planning approval.
Planning and approval status
Firmus states that it is working with the South Australian Government to establish the required approval process.
The project is planned, but the proposed capacity does not mean it has been fully approved or constructed.
